Pangea Pulse: Pangea Media Survey Finds 57% of Teens Don't Consider Downloading Music Illegally to be Stealing

Pangea Media (PangeaMedia.com), an online marketing company and the leading provider of quiz-based advertising solutions for advertisers and publishers, has released the results of its latest "Pangea Pulse" which tracked the responses of more than 1000 teens regarding music.

According to the survey conducted on teen quiz site Quibblo (Quibblo.com), 65% of respondees own an iPod and 73% say they use it daily. A full 45% of respondees report they take music lessons and 61% would prefer to go to a concert versus 26% who prefer going to a movie. Fifty two percent of respondees state that by the time they were thirteen years old, they had been to a concert without chaperones.

iTunes is the most common go to spot for music purchases (43%); at 21%, in store purchase were the second most popular source of music. A full 57% of respondees do not consider downloading music without paying for it to be stealing. Parents and gift cards are the funding source for most music purchases, said participants.
