SnapApp Spotlight: Exponential Entertainment, Inc. Helps Sci-Fi Comedy Fans Discover Which "Paul" They Are
SnapApp client Exponential Entertainment, Inc. runs HollywoodPlayer.com, a social gaming service that connects film fans everywhere, offering them ways to discover, share and play with movie content like never before: through star-studded games that include scenes from hit Hollywood movies.
SnapApp powers one such game, "Which Paul Are You?," a personality quiz created for fans of the movie "Paul," written by Nick Frost and Simon Pegg of "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead" fame.
The sci-fi adventure comedy, directed by Greg Mattola who also directed "Superbad," stars Frost and Pegg as two British comic book geeks touring UFO-sites across the U.S. on their way back from Comic-Con. Right outside of Area 51, they have a chance encounter with an alien named Paul, voiced by Seth Rogan. Paul, the ""space-traveling smart ass,"" convinces the nerdy duo to help him get back to the mother ship to escape Earth. Hilarity ensues as their adventure unfolds while being chased by federal agents and the father of a woman they inadvertently kidnapp, played by Kristen Wigg.
Paul is full of personality and thus relatable to his fans through one or more of his many character traits. The "Which Paul Are You" quiz, created and embedded to the Paul’s Alien Arcade Facebook app through the SnapApp platform, allows alien lovers to associate themselves with one of those Paul personalities.
"Paul" the movie debuted in the U.S. at SXSW this past weekend and opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 18th, 2011. In the meanwhile, check out HollywoodPlayer.com or the Paul’s Alien Arcade Facebook app to find out which Paul YOU are. Maybe you’re Fugitive Paul? Or perhaps Celebrity Paul? Me? I was Joker Paul.
